Telltale’s take on Guardians of the Galaxy has seemingly had its plot synopsis released on a retailer’s website.
“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
“From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.”
We want to hear it.
Announced at The Game Awards last year, Guardians of the Galaxy will be a five-episode series released on PC, consoles, and mobile in which “players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe.”.
There’s a key difference between the descriptions – that of who you play in the game; simply Star-Lord, or multiple characters. Telltale’s games have tended towards offering a single character’s perspective, although Tales From the Borderlands frequently switched between two leads.
An earlier version of the pre-order page pinned the game’s initial release date as April 25 – just a week before Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is released. That date has since been removed from the entry, however – it’s unclear if the date was incorrect, or an unintended reveal.
