The Rock Thinks Terry Crews Should Voice an Overwatch Character, Too

Actor Terry Crews has made it no secret he’d like to voice an Overwatch character. While Blizzard’s stance remains unknown, one person who approves is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

There have been rumors for some time that a character named Doomfist is on the way to Overwatch. Fans have proposed Crews could fill this role, and Crews himself has repeatedly said he’d be up for it. He tweeted about the possibility again this week, leading to The Rock voicing his support in a tweet of his own.

“Co-sign,” he said. “Known TC for years and this man’s voice even has bad assery muscles. Fans would luv it. #Doomfist”

It’s unclear if The Rock even knows what Overwatch is, but his support certainly can’t hurt. That said, it’s not as if Blizzard is likely to be unaware of Crews’ interest–there has been no shortage of fan support for the idea, and Crews even got to visit Blizzard recently.

Presumably, Blizzard hasn’t given Crews the role yet, given how hard he’s campaigned for it. That is, unless this is all an elaborate ruse to make us think he hasn’t signed up to do so already.

There’s no official word yet on who the next character will be. The hacker-centric Sombra was added in mid-November, while the new Oasis map debuted just this week. We know Blizzard has extensive plans for more content this year, but we don’t yet have a time table for when any of it will launch or even be unveiled.
