Rocket League's Second Anniversary Includes New Cars And Explosions

Soccer-racing hybrid Rocket League isn’t about to put on the brakes. Inching upon its second anniversary next month, developer Psyonix revealed that there’s much to come on July 5.

Coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in a free update is an arena, achievements and trophies, cars, customization options, music, and more.

Champions Field, akin to modern-day stadium, will be free for play in competitive, casual and private matches. And for eSports Rocket League players, this stadium will be available for the start of Season 5 which will begin on the same day.

Two new import battle-cars will join the fray: the Animus GP and Centio V17. These two cars will be delivered in Overdrive Crates which will become new item drops in-game. Flashy new goal explosions–fire, ice, and bright purple fireworks–will be part of the update too.

Alongside these drops will come even more customization options for cars than ever before. Pick the look and color of your wheel’s tracks and the sound of your engine. More options will become available as they are unlocked through crate drops after matches.

Finally, 18 new songs by Monstercat will star in the in-game radio station, Rocket League Radio. The song list has not yet been detailed.

Rocket League is available now as a cross-platform game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor collide at Extreme Rules! Join us for all the action.

Welcome to what’s being billed as the most EXTREME night of the year – Extreme Rules! Where one match features a single solitary weapon placed high upon a pole for the combatants to share while another match specifically requires the champion to follow the rules lest they get disqualified and lose their championship!

    EXTREEEEEME!

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Tonight, Bayley will challenge Alexa Bliss, The Miz will try to topple Dean Ambrose, the Hardys will defend their belts inside a cage, and five superstars — Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and Samoa Joe — will collide for the chance to face Brock Lesnar at a later date.

Lock it in here at IGN’s Extreme Rules live blog for all the results and our reaction. And hit up the comment board below to let us know what you think of the show!

    Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

“Not good for the Titus brand!”

In a match that was much better than the storyline that caused it to happen, Kalisto beat Apollo Crews as Crews meandered around in this strange pseudo-heel role that doesn’t suit him.

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Again, this story is the pits and you can’t help but feel bad for two guys whose status has only diminished since getting “shaken up” to RAW (though their SmackDown standings weren’t all that great either), but the match was fun. Especially that DDT move (gif’d above) that Kalisto pulled out. Fenix uses it over on Lucha Underground so anything Kalisto can do to incorporate more LU moves into his work, the better.

    Winner: Kalisto

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Hey, this was…okay. And the crowd was solidly into it, I guess. They popped for every false finish, be it a pinfall attempt or one of Miz’s scheming DQ attempts. It just, you know, didn’t have any right being on a show called Extreme Rules. Had the PPV been called Night of Stipulations, then it’d have made more sense. Also, not for nothing, but this type of match makes the refs look even more idiotic than usual as it almost always calls for them to not use any type of common sense. As if a ref couldn’t know that Dean unintentionally almost rammed Miz’s head into an exposed metal turnbuckle.

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Dean had to stop himself from accidentally breaking rules because a typical WWE ref, depending on what the story needs, is either able to make a thoughtful judgment call or they’re forced to be obtuse morons who have no ability to discern intention. Anyhow, the end of this one saw Miz actually land a pinfall win because Dean was too distracted trying to get the ref NOT to DQ him for bumping him. You’d think with the belt on the line in this fact that there’d be a more effective replay element at work. So that a ref can actually check on things he didn’t see. You know, if he actually can’t figure it out on his own.

Winner, and NEW Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

Rich Swann & Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar & Alicia Fox

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Wonderful. Sasha Banks catfights now. And acts as supplemental support for a Rich Swann/Noam Dar feud. Sure, the RAW portion of this started between Sasha and Alicia, but it’s pretty much become a 205 Live angle. Swann got the pin and win but at least Sasha got to land this move…

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

So this was but it was. Eh.

What I really want to talk about though is UNEXPECTED DRIFTER! And his hit single “Baltimore is Bathed in Filth!” I loved it. He didn’t do anything except sing his dumb song wearing those dumb scarves and he generated pure, magical heat in its most concentrated form. He’s getting there. He insulted the crowd and the town – yay! – but then he needed to cut the rest of the song where he lapsed into Tom Waits meets my middle school poetry.

Winners: Rich Swann and Noam Dar

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match)

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

Well, that was quick and odd. Not only was the Baltimore crowd a little shaky on Bayley – yup, people are starting to turn on her, especially when Alexa’s the alternative – but Bayley basically got mauled by a kendo stick here and then pinned after a DDT. After all the build up, this one went nowhere. AND the WWE’s now sabotaged Bayley by making her seem too pathetic. The whole story here was “Can Bayley get extreme?” The answer was, apparently, “No LOL!”

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Live Blog and Results

All the work done by Charlotte and Alexa, to drive Bayley into the dirt and dig into her past, has basically turned people against her. All this too after Bayley said that Wonder Woman had her pumped and inspired.

    Winner: Alexa Bliss

Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus

Ghostbusters: Dan Aykroyd Blames Director Paul Feig for Expensive Reboot’s Failure

    Share.

Aykroyd asserted Feig spent too much money on the film.

Original Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd has blamed director Paul Feig for the 2016’s reboot’s underwhelming performance at the box office.

Speaking to the UK’s Channel 4 (via Deadline), Aykroyd said that although he enjoyed the film – as did many critics – Feig was to blame for its inflated budget.

“The girls are great in it. Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig – what wonderful, wonderful players they are – and Leslie Jones,” began Aykroyd. “I was really happy with the movie, but it cost too much. And Sony does not like to lose money, they don’t. It made a lot of money around the world but just cost too much, making it economically not feasible to do another one. So that’s too bad.”

The blame, according to Aykroyd, has to be laid at Feig’s feet for spending too much money on production.

“The director, he spent too much on it,” Aykroyd said. “He didn’t shoot scenes we suggested to him and several scenes that were going to be needed and he said ‘nah, we don’t need them.’ Then we tested the movie and they needed them and he had to go back. About $30 to $40 million in reshoots. So he will not be back on the Sony lot any time soon.”

The Ghostbusters reboot grossed $299.1 worldwide on a production and marketing budget of approximately $144 million, which put any potential sequels on ice.

The Best Fidget Spinners and Fidget Cubes

    Share.

What idiot called them fidget spinners and not fidget widgets?

If you can’t seem to keep yourself still and need something, anything, to occupy your hands, the sudden explosion of fidget toys is just what you need. While they make somewhat dubious claims about their therapeutic benefits, there’s no denying the satisfaction of spinning a tiny toy, or clicking and fussing with switches and buttons, while you’re otherwise idle. It just feels right. Below we’ve compiled a list of the best fidget spinners and best fidget cubes you can buy right now. And if you aren’t interested in dropping $20 or more on a simple fidget toy, we’ve also included a few ultra-cheap fidget spinners and cheap fidget cubes that will still get the job done (and likely make a little but more noise while doing it).

Here are some great fidget toys to help keep your mind on track. Bonus! We’ve added even more, with solid reviews.
