Before it’s a Movie, Read About The  Late ’80s/Early ’90s Throwdown Between Nintendo and Sega

There’s a reason Seth Rogen has the rights to make Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle that Defined a Generation into a movie: it’s fantastic story of corporate rivalry and intrigue, set against an awesomely eighties background. It’s The Social Network for the early years of the video game industry and it can be yours to read on Kindle for only $2 (paperback copies are usually around $8. Uncharted Writer Joe Carnahan Boasts of Movie’s ‘Monstrously Cool’ Script

Share.

“[The script] is a BEAST,” says Carnahan.

Writer Joe Carnahan has completed his draft of the Uncharted movie—a script he calls “monstrously cool.”

“Done and Dusted,” Carnahan wrote alongside an image of the script on Instagram. “Now the REAL work begins. If there’s a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, ‘cuz this thing is a BEAST.”

The Uncharted movie was first announced in 2009. After nearly 8 years of on-again, off-again development, Carnahan was brought on to write the script. A few months later, Stranger Things director Shawn Levy was tapped to helm the film.

Levy has since confirmed he’s “started some very secret, low-grade conversations and explorations of actors” for the role of Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake. He also spoke about the tone of Carnahan’s script, saying it channels “that Nathan-blend of real guy, heroism, snarky, funny wit.”

The Uncharted movie is currently without a release date, but Levy hopes to complete filming in 2017.

Black Flash Will Return to Multiple CW Arrowverse Shows

Share.

Black Flash will be back on “multiple shows.”

Spoilers for The Flash through its Season 3 midseason finale continue below.

Black Flash will return, and not just on The Flash.

Arrowverse executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed more details about Black Flash’s return during the 2017 winter TV Critics Association press tour. He promised that Black Flash will be back on “multiple shows,” but didn’t clarify which specifically.

Black Flash Will Return to Multiple CW Arrowverse Shows

Teddy Sears as Black Flash on The Flash

It’s unclear if Teddy Sears will reprise the role considering his character Hunter Zolomon turned into Black Flash in the Season 2 finale. Kreisberg said Black Flash will have “sort of classic comic book Grim Reaper aspect, it’s just it will be on multiple shows.”

“He’s a classic character. We have storylines on a couple of the shows that fit having him return,” said Kreisberg. “There’s something so scary about him, even sort of scarier than when he was just a man, because now it’s like he is the Grim Reaper, he is the devil, so how do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.”

As for what’s next when The Flash returns, Kreisberg previewed that Barry and The Flash team will find out “a little bit more about the future” and Iris’s foretold death so “they now have a list of things they know will occur between now and May.”

“Their operating principal is can they stop enough of these things to change time. They have a little bit of a roadmap,” said Kreisberg. “They’ve got a mission of the week to see if they can change the future. … They’ve never had to deal with knowing something terrible is coming down the pike and can they avert it.”

Meanwhile on Supergirl, Kara’s top priority is still facing Cadmus and unraveling the mystery of Mon-El.

“I think a lot of the pull of the next episodes is the mystery of Mon-El and what is he hiding and who are these people who are tracking him? That coincides with the two of them becoming closer and seeing where that relationship goes,” said Kreisberg, adding, “There are going to be a couple other returning villains: Livewire is coming back, Parasite is coming back and she’s going to be face off against Mr. Mytzlplk [who will be played by Once Upon a Time in Wonderland alum Peter Gadiot].”

Rogue One aims to remain No. 1.

Underworld: Blood Wars debuted this weekend to underwhelming numbers, earning $13.1 million at the domestic box office.

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the fifth entry in Screen Gems’ vampire vs. Lycan franchise, from director Anna Foerster, had a production budget of $35 million. While it placed fourth domestically, the film is doing much better internationally, having currently earned a total of $45 million.

The film, which tells the story of the three African American women at NASA who aided in sending the first men into space, is currently sitting at second place with $21.8 million. For our thoughts on the film, read IGN’s Hidden Figures review.

Supergirl’s Greg Berlanti on Whether Superman Could Get a Spinoff

Share.

“In success, I think all those things would be possible.”

Superman was a very well received inclusion in Supergirl when Season 2 began, but could the Man of Steel get his own CW spinoff?

The Supergirl producers had to get permission from DC and Warner Bros. to include Superman in his guest role, and they’d have to sign off on future appearances of the character. Asked about the possibility of giving Superman his own series at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti replied, “We were just really lucky. We asked to have him on the first two episodes [of Supergirl] and they were great about it.”

Brlanti added, “We’d love to have Tyler [Hoechlin] back. He’s amazing. He was great in the role.”

Berlanti stressed no conversations were underway with CW about a Superman series right now, but also said, “In success, I think all those things would be possible.”

He added, “I’m always the guy who says yes if there seems to be an appetite for it… and the people involved are really nice!”
